We build the smallest new homes in Europe, significantly smaller than 100 years ago. In 91 years UK home sizes have decreased by 44%. I as a creative have worries as to how this affects the design industry?
So as part of a childrens furniture brief, me and a team of other designers set to work to invent a solution; an all-in-one furnishing solution to small home space in a short project.
Our aim was to involve at least four functionalities to the product - so we sketched, modeled and discussed our way through from over 90 concepts down to a select five between us.
We prototyped and tested....got some feedback and make some minor adjustments... and we're still in development in our own time in between degree work. The aim is to produce a fully functional transformable model in the coming months that will transform between functions, be stackable and collapsible to achieve our original design intent!
